DJC Law Announces Legal Representation in Delta Flight 4819 Crash at Toronto Pearson International Airport

Austin, TX — February 19, 2025 — DJC Law, a premier personal injury and aviation law firm based in Austin, Texas, along with the Watts law firm and the Carabin Shaw law firm announces its legal representation of a local Austin passenger involved in the Delta Air Lines Flight 4819 incident at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This flight, which was en route from Minneapolis to Toronto, flipped upside down and caught fire upon landing, causing significant injuries to several passengers including our client.

Veteran aviation attorneys Andres Pereira and Mark Pierce, both of whom have extensive experience in aviation law and aviation accident litigation, are leading the case. Their expertise will be critical in securing justice for the victims, while working in collaboration with aviation safety investigators to understand the circumstances surrounding this harrowing event.

On Monday, Canadian investigators removed the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder from the wreckage to determine the cause of the accident. At this time, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has not yet identified the reason for the crash, although they are conducting a thorough investigation. Preliminary reports indicate that two of the 21 passengers taken to the hospital remain hospitalized.

“We are committed to providing support and legal counsel to the victims of this incident, ensuring that their rights are upheld during this process,” said Andres Pereira. “We understand the trauma these passengers have experienced, and we will advocate for them as this investigation unfolds.”

The crash occurred after the regional jet, touched down on the runway at Toronto Pearson, leaning to the right and flipping over before bursting into flames. Photos from the scene show the fuselage upside-down on the runway, with the right wing missing.

The plane involved, a Mitsubishi-built CRJ-900, was carrying four crew members and 76 passengers at the time of the crash. Emergency responders, as well as the flight crew, are being praised for their swift actions in evacuating passengers and preventing any fatalities.

As the investigation continues, DJC Law remains focused on holding all responsible parties accountable and ensuring that the victims of this crash receive the full support they need.
