KATY, TX – A Sunday morning youth baseball game in Katy, Texas, took a frightening turn when stray gunfire injured a coach at TheRac Baseball complex. Parents and players rushed for cover as the game came to an abrupt stop. The coach was airlifted to the hospital and is now recovering, thankfully expected to make a full recovery.

In response to the shooting, the facility’s management, TheRac Baseball, suspended all games and practices until further notice. They issued a statement expressing concern and emphasizing safety as their top priority.

Investigation Underway as Community Raises Safety Concerns

Law enforcement is actively investigating the shooting, and the Waller County Sheriff’s Office has identified three individuals they believe may have been involved. At this time, no arrests have been made as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine exactly what happened.

Parents who were at the game said they had been hearing gunfire throughout the morning, which has heightened concerns about how close the baseball fields are to areas where people regularly target shoot or hunt. Many in the community are now calling for stronger safety measures to prevent another frightening incident like this one.
